Henry Merit is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN, originally from Boston, MA’s North Shore. A self-proclaimed “long lost emo Beatle,” Merit plays a blend of folk and indie rock, mixing catchy choruses with reflective lyrics. As a solo artist, Merit has played Boston mainstay venues such as The Middle East Upstairs, The Jungle, Midway Cafe, O’Briens, and The Cantab Lounge. Merit has also played nationally in Nashville, Austin, Denver, New York and Los Angeles. Merit released a trio of coming of age singles in 2022 beginning with “Starting Over,” followed by the single “Frank”, produced by Boston music scene veterans Dan Nicklin and Nate Leavitt of Other Brother Darryl at Henley Row, and ending with “Suburbs,” described as a “buttery-smooth scoop of suburban melancholy” (617 Reviews). In the fall of 2022, Merit toured the eastern United States, kicked off by playing at the Lovelane Hoedown, in Wayland, MA, headlined by Barenaked Ladies, and ending in Austin, TX.
